Ashley Greene Joins Summer
Joanna on Aug 27 • "Summer's Blood"No Comments

A family of serial killers has drawn Twilight star Ashley Greene into their web in the edgy indie thriller Summer.

Stephen McHattie, Barbara Niven and Peter Mooney play the deranged kinfolk who Greene’s character encounters on her quest to find the father she’s never known.

Horror filmmaker Lee De Marbre is directing the tentatively titled film from a screenplay by Sean Hogan and Christine Conradt for producers Rob Menzies, Donald Osbourne and Curtis Crawford of Ottawa-based Zed Filmworks (The Dead Sleep Easy).

Greene’s next big-screen role is in the December release Twilight, the vampire thriller adaptation of the best-selling young adult novel. McHattie will be seen in another anticipated cult project, the Warner Bros. film Watchmen. Mooney stars in the ABC Family series Falcon Beach, and Niven has appeared in numerous telefilms.

Twilight Shoots New Scenes
Joanna on Aug 26 • "Twilight"9 Comments

Though the principal photography of vampire drama Twilight has been wrapped up months earlier, the cast and crew of the Summit Entertainment’s romantic thriller are going back to the production set once again. They are getting back together starting on Monday, August 25, to shoot several extra scenes to spice up the movie even more.

Talking to MTV News, Carlisle Cullen’s depicter, Peter Facinelli, suggested that the additional shooting is not reshoots of previous scenes. “They liked it so much, they are bringing us back for some encore time - to beef it up,” he said. “A little salt and pepper.” In the same positive tone, another cast member Taylor Lautner stated on Friday, August 22, “We actually just had a rehearsal at [director] Catherine Hardwicke’s house the other day for a new scene. It was a ton of fun.”

The additional filming which will be done on Monday (August 25), Tuesday (August 26) and Thursday (August 28) has been hinted to contain a flashback scene explaining the background story of the Cullen family. “I can tell you it’s a flashback scene,” Facinelli shared. “It gives us a little bit of history of the Cullen family…They are just shooting a couple of different added scenes, and the scene I’m in, I can tell you it’s me and Robert Pattinson… Rosalie and Emmett are in that scene.”

Twilight Moved Forward!

Good news, Twilighters. The movie has been pushed forward and will now hit cinemas November 21, 2008. Can’t wait!

Twilight, the first film in Summit Entertainment’s thriller romance franchise, has moved up its North American release date to Friday, November 21, 2008. The film, which was previously planned to be released on December, 12, 2008, is taking advantage of an opening in the upcoming fall release calendar. The new release date for Twilight allows the studio to both bring the film to the written-series’ enormous fan base sooner, and to present the film in more theatres prior to the holiday movie-going season where traditionally screen time for any popular film is limited.

When Warner Bros. decided to move Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince to the summer of 2009, we saw a unique opportunity to slot in our film which has been gaining tremendous awareness and momentum over the past several months,” said Rob Friedman, Co-Chairman and CEO of Summit Entertainment. “We by no means are trying to fill the shoes of the incredible
Potter franchise for 2008, rather we are just looking to bring the fans of Stephenie Meyer’s incredible book series the film as soon possible from a programming perspective.”

Otis DVD Screencaptures

I have added DVD screencaptures of Ashley’s small role in Otis. The caps aren’t from the film itself, they are from one of the DVD extras entitled: Otis Home Movie: Suite 16. She was one of the victims that died before the stuff in the film actually happens. Credit goes out to Stef for this treat!

I’ve also added one new on the set picture of Alice and the Cullen gang.

Here it is, finally, the long awaited revamp of AshleyGreene.net! I apologize for the shortage in updates this past summer but I wanted to wait until I got a new design and everything converted to the fabulous WordPress. It should certainly make updating far more pleasant than doing it manually. Thanks to SLO Designs for this stunning new layout. I am very pleased with it and I hope you’ll like it as much as I do!

The gallery has also been brought up-to-date with all kinds of goodies, including new event pics and Twilight stills. As you’ve probably heard, Ashley and Twilight co-star Rachelle Lefevre are featured in the August issue of H magazine. The photoshoot is now available in the gallery.

Kellan Lutz & Ashley Greene to Reunite For Strife
Joanna on Aug 01 • "Strife"1 Comment

Although their film doesn’t even come out for another six months, the young stars of Twilight have already reached a level of star status that most actors would kill for. And now, two of the castmembers already have plans to reunite.

MTV News has exclusively learned that Kellan Lutz and Ashley Greene have signed on to Strife, a film set to begin production in a few weeks. The movie will arrive in theaters next year, shortly after audiences will have seen Lutz and Greene as Cullen clan members Emmett and Alice, respectively.

Directed by filmmaker Omid Shabkhiz, Strife tells the story of three friends struggling with day-to-day life in the drug- and gang-infested streets of Los Angeles. Caught in a world of violence and tragedy, they struggle to discover the hope and love that can help them persevere.

The burly, charismatic 23-year-old Lutz is set to play Jagger, a smooth-talking but troubled young man who gets caught in his own game when he falls into debt. His desperate actions set much of the film’s plot into action.

Meanwhile, the sweet-smiling Greene has been cast as Trish, a well-educated girl who hits the streets of Los Angeles with the best of intentions. Passionate about women’s rights and social awareness, Greene will be a stark contrast to Lutz’s character.

She’ll also be the voice of reason for the film’s third lead, a man named Lorenzo, played by up-and-comer Kyle Schmid (The Covenant, Sisterhood of the Traveling Pants). Schmid’s character is a privileged young man from a wealthy family who nonetheless has to fight temptations as he tries to remain loyal to his friends.
